A competition of creative arts for high school and lower division college students.
Each spring, the Olympiad of the Arts recognizes the outstanding creative talents of college and high school students in Santa Clara County and encourages their continued study and growth in the arts.
NEW THIS YEAR - Guitar Category - The Olmpiad of the Arts is extending invitations to, "Classical" & "Finger Style Acoustic" players, by establishing two new categories of "Classical" Guitar and "Finger Style Acoustic" Guitar.
In 2009, students can express their talents in the following four categories: Dance, Classical Piano, Classical Guitar, and Finger Style Acoustic Guitar. The Olympiad of the Arts Competition is open to Community College; lower division four-year College, and high school students in Santa Clara County.
Every aspirant will receive a Certificate of Merit from the Olympiad of the Arts in order to recognize their participation, as well as enhance their resume.
Three finalists from each category will be chosen to compete at the Finals Competition on Sunday, April 19th at West Valley College in Music Room 12 for:
1st Place: $500.
2nd Place: $300.
3rd place: $200.
Note: All finalists must be present to win.
The Finals Competition for all categories and the presentation of awards will be open to the public.
